Hello friends! I’m Erica.
…and I am a wedding photojournalist. This means that I specialize in documentary style (also called candid, lifestyle, or simply unposed) photography.
The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) recently named me 5th among the Top 9 Wedding Photographers for 2021—a huge honor for wedding photographers who specialize in documentary style photography. Check it out, here! The WPJA sets and exceeds the standard for reportage-style documentary wedding photography.
I enrolled in college as a young artist where I learned how to create and critique art, which would later become the foundation for my photography career. After graduating, I took an internship as a photojournalist at The Valley News Dispatch–now known as Trib Total Media–where I fell in love with visual storytelling and the year I shot my first wedding. I spent 8 years working for the newspapers and won multiple state-wide awards. In 2015, I decided to focus 100% of my energy on weddings. I took what I loved most about photojournalism (authentic storytelling, capturing real moments) and infused it with wedding photography.
In addition to beautiful unposed (and a few posed) portraits of yourselves, I also look for the side moments to tell the FULL story of your day. Maybe it’s your flower girls misbehaving in the back of the church, or your mom crying in the distance during your first dance. These moments are typically “unseen” but add emotional richness to your photos that only a photojournalist will catch.

I reside in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania in Butler County just an hour north of Pittsburgh with my husband and our two golden retrievers, Rox and Stella. I love wheat beer and I hate wine. I love wide leg pants and I hate shorts. I love coffee and I hate tea. I love cooking but I hate cleaning up afterward. I love deep conversations but I hate chit chat.
